Job title and employer
Category Business Manager | Canadian Tire Corporation
How long have you worked in the automotive industry?
I began working in the aftermarket as a parts clerk at my local Canadian Tire store in 1994.
Where did you attend school? And what is the highest level of education?
I graduated from Wilfrid Laurier University with an Honours Bachelor of Business Administration degree. I also achieved my CPIM designation (Certified in Production and Inventory Management) but unfortunately, I allowed it to lapse. Don’t do that.
Have you had an industry mentor? If so, who and why?
I’ve had many mentors throughout my career, although not all have been directly related to the automotive aftermarket. Canadian Tire is committed to an environment where learning is encouraged for career development and valued as a key contributor to the success of the company.
Any advice you would give someone either starting in the industry or looking to transition into the industry?
Get involved. Listen. Ask questions. Share your ideas. The aftermarket is an exciting, fast-paced and constantly changing environment. Fresh ideas are needed to address the changing technological, social, economic and political pressures facing our industry.
